CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of North Carolina has finished its 2005-06 recruiting class with the announcement Tuesday that five additional prospective student-athletes have decided to accept enrollment to UNC, beginning classes in August 2006.

A third player is Joe Howard, a 6-2, 195-pound attackman from Jordan High School in Durham, N.C. Colin Sherwood is an attackman who attends Grimsley High School and lives in Greensboro, N.C. Rounding out the recruiting class is Ian Morrison, a California native who plays both attack and midfield. Morrison is a native of Carmel, Calif. and he attends Robert L. Stevenson High School. The five Tar Heels join the seven players who signed national letters of intent last November.
The previously announced class includes a trio of players from New York State as well as two players from New Jersey and one player each from Virginia and Connecticut. All seven players signed NCAA national letters of intent to play and are now committed to playing for Carolina beginning in the fall of 2006.
This year's fall recruiting class included Kevin Federico of West Islip, N.Y., Sean Delaney of Moorestown, N.J., Blair Koontz of Montclair, N.J., Sean Burke of Fort Salonga, N.Y., Sean Jackson of Fairfax, Va., Kerry McKormick of Garden City, N.Y. and Chris Madalon of Darien, Conn.
Kevin Federico is a 5-9, 160-pound attackman who UNC coaches describe as a great field general with excellent vision. He has been named first-team All-County twice and has also been a two-time selection to play in the Empire State Games. His father, Tom, was the captain of UNC's 1981 NCAA championship team as a senior.
Sean Delaney comes to UNC as an All-State selection in his home state of New Jersey. He also plays the attack and is 6-2, 195 pounds.
His fellow native of the Garden State, Blair Koontz, plays in the midfield and is listed at 6-3, 190 pounds.
Sean Burke attends St. Anthony's High School where he plays the midfield at 6-1, 175 pounds. Burke was a 2005 Empire State Games selection and he was selected to play in the 2005 New York Senior Bowl. Burke was also a 2005 first-team All-Long Island pick in football last fall. Sean's older brother, Brian, was a starting defenseman on the 2006 Tar Heel team and will be a junior next season.
A 6-2, 195-pound defenseman, Sean Jackson is a two-time All-District selection while competing at W.T. Woodson High School.
Attending Garden City High School, Kerry McKormick also plays defense. He is 6-1, 175 pounds. McKormick was named All-Long Island by Newsday in 2005 and was a 2005 high school All-America while making the Long Island Empire State Games Team in 2005.
The last member of the class is Chris Madalon, a 6-2, 175-pound goalkeeper who attends Darien High School. Madalan was named a high school All-America in 2005 and that same year he was tapped as a member of the Connecticut Super Junior Team.
This group of 12 signees will be looked upon to help replace UNC's large senior class of 2006 which included 13 players. Altogether the Tar Heels will have a roster of 42 players in 2006-07.
