WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --- North Carolina (18-2, 5-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) travels to Winston-Salem Thursday as the Tar Heels visit Wake Forest for a 7 p.m. contest at Joel Coliseum. Carolina is coming off a 97-86 double-overtime win over No. 4 Maryland on Jan. 26. Wake Forest enters the contest with a record of 13-9 (0-7 ACC) after a 63-38 loss at NC State on Jan. 27. UNC is ranked No. 3 in both the AP poll and the ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll. Wake Forest is unranked.

WAKE FOREST SERIES NOTES
North Carolina is 53-12 all-time against Wake Forest, including a 19-8 mark in Winston-Salem.
After meeting at least twice in every season since 1983-84, the Tar Heels and Demon Deacons have met just once in each of the last two seasons. UNC scored a 96-47 win last season in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels took the last meeting at Wake, a 91-57 decision in 2006.
Carolina has won four straight in the series and seven of the last eight. Wake has defeated UNC just four times since 1991-92, with all four victories coming at home.
NOTING THE DEMON DEACONS
Wake Forest is 13-9 on the season (0-7 in the ACC) after a 63-38 loss at NC State on Jan. 27.
The Demon Deacons are led in scoring by junior guard/forward Alex Tchangoue and junior forward Corinne Groves. Both players average 11.4 points per game.
The junior duo of Tchangoue and Groves also shares the rebounding lead, as the pair each pulls down 7.1 rebounds per contest.
STREAKS
Carolina has won nine of its last 10 and has opened the season with five straight conference wins.
Wake Forest has lost seven of its last eight and has opened the season with seven straight conference losses. The Demon Deacons, who went 0-14 in league play last season, have not won a conference game since an 82-70 victory over Clemson on Feb. 12, 2006, a string of 24 consecutive setbacks.
