Grant Zimmerman made 15 saves while facing 51 shots and No. 7 North Carolina handed No. 5 Cornell its first regular-season loss in two years Sunday at Fetzer Field by a 13-8 score before a huge crowd of close to 4,000 fans. Junior attackman Michael B. Burns and freshman reserve attackman Billy Benz Bitter each scored three goals to lead the Tar Heels' balanced offensive effort. UNC jumped out to a 5-1 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back in improving to 3-0. The Tar Heels will host No. 6-ranked and undefeated Notre Dame next Saturday at Fetzer Field at 3:30 p.m.
