Latta, Larkins Lead Mersin To President's Cup Victory

Former North Carolina All-America players Ivory Latta and Erlana Larkins led their Turkish club team Mersin to an 86-74 win over traditional powerhouse Fenerbahçe in the season-opening President's Cup game Wednesday at the Atatürk Sport Hall in the capital city of Ankara.
Latta led all scorers with 27 points on 6-of-11 shooting, while Larkins added 18 points and eight rebounds for Mersin. Latta, who made four three-pointers on the night, helped Mersin to a 48-31 halftime lead which it would not relinquish.
Larkins, who played a team-high 34 minutes and 39 seconds, finished 9 of 17 from the floor.
