Carolina Opens ACC Tournament Thursday Against Clemson

GREENSBORO, N.C. --- The 34th Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Tournament begins Thursday, March 3, at the Greensboro Coliseum and North Carolina has earned the No. 6 seed. The Tar Heels will open their pursuit of a record 10th ACC title at 8 p.m. Thursday against 11th-seeded Clemson. UNC won the lone regular season meeting, 60-47, in Clemson, S.C., on Feb. 10. Thursday's game will be available on the ACC Network on TheACC.com.

The 2011 ACC Women's Tournament will mark the 12th consecutive year the Coliseum has played host to the event. Last year, the Tournament set a new single-game attendance record in the opening round's School Day game with a crowd of 11,445 that featured approximately 7,800 elementary students, nearly 2,000 more than the year before.
