Tar Heels Move Into Fifth at Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate

Awendaw, S.C. - The Carolina men's golf team moved up one spot in round two of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate. The Tar Heels are in fifth place with a 5-under-par 571 total. The team was led by freshman Zach Munroe.
Munroe, from Charlotte, N.C., was the low Tar Heel of the day, carding a 3-under 69. He is tied for 18th with a 144 total. Bailey Patrick and Brandon Dalinka both shot 2-under 70 in Monday's round. Patrick, of Charlotte, N.C. is tied for 15th at 1-under 143 and Dalinka, of Newtown, Pa., is tied for 25th at 1-over 145. Junior Michael McGowan is tied for 13th at 2-under 142 after his even-par round. Patrick Barrett, from Pinehurst, N.C., fired a 6-over 78, bringing him to a 6-over 150 total. Barnett is tied for 53rd.
Auburn continues to lead the 15-team field. The Tigers, at 16-under 560, have established a five-stroke lead over Kentucky and Texas A&M, who are tied for third at 9-under 597. North Carolina State shot itself into the top five after carding a 9-under 279. The Wolfpack sits in fourth at 6-under 570. The Tar Heels hold fifth place at 5-under 571.
Cameron Peck of Texas A&M took the individual lead after his 5-under 67 performance in round two. Peck has a one-stroke lead at 7-under 137 over Auburn's Blayne Barber, who jumped into second place with his 6-over 138 total. There is a six-way tie for third at 5-under 139 among Auburn's Dominic Bozzelli, Mississippi's Joe David, Kentucky's Cody Martin and David Snyder, Texas A&M's Jordan Russell and LSU's Sang Yi.
The final round of the 54-hole tournament will be played on Tuesday, March 27, at Bulls Bay Golf Club, which features a par 72, 7,363-yard design. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
