Eleven of the 16 teams in the field played in the postseason in 2011, including NCAA tournament teams Delaware, Georgetown, Iowa, Liberty, Middle Tennessee and Sacred Heart.
Carolina's last appearance in the event was a memorable one, as the Tar Heels defeated No. 2 Oklahoma in Norman, 80-79, to capture the title.

Quarterfinal games will be two days later on Nov. 11, with semifinals set for Nov. 14-15 and the title game on Nov. 18. Regardless of result, all teams in the event are guaranteed to play three games, with the finalists getting a fourth.
