Carolina Off To A Good Start At Duke Fab Four Invite

The freshmen duo of Jamie Loeb and Hayley Carter cruised to the finals in the doubles blue draw with a pair of 8-4 victories on Friday morning. The first collegiate doubles match of both their careers wound up a resounding victory over El Kamash and Julie Jones of Ole Miss. The semifinals saw Loeb and Carter take down Breaunna Addison and Ratnika Batra of Texas.
They will take on Alabama's duo of Erin Routliffe and Danielle Spielmann in the finals of the blue draw on Saturday at 9 a.m.
In singles play, 34th-ranked Whitney Kay disposed of Ines Deheza of Texas A&M, 6-1, 6-3, in the blue draw.
Carter made quick work of Oklahoma State's Carla Tur Masi, 6-1, 6-2, in the black draw, while Loeb had a similar result against Miami's Clementina Riobueno, 6-2, 6-1, in the white draw.
Play continues Saturday with doubles finals and singles quarterfinal and semifinal action.
