Dustin Bray Finishes 3rd At Web.com Tour Qualifying

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLA. – Former University of North Carolina golfer Dustin Bray finished in third place at the final stage of Web.com Tour Qualifying which was played at the PGA National Resort and Spa, Fazio and Champion Courses. Bray started the day tied for fifth and fired a 5-under-par 66 on the Champion Course to move up to third and will be fully exempt on the Web.com Tour until the third reshuffle of the 2015 season.
Bray, a native of Asheboro, N.C., fired seven birdies and two bogeys on Tuesday and ended the six-round, 108-hole event with a 19-under 410 total. His birdies came on holes #1, #3, #4, #9, #11, #13 and #18 while his two bogeys came on holes #6 and #12.
The top 10 finishers and ties, like Bray, will be fully exempt on the Web.com Tour until the third reshuffle of the 2015 season. The top 45 finishers and ties will be fully exempt until the second reshuffle of the 2015 season. As the tournament began with 150 players, players outside the top 45 will learn on a week-to-week basis whether their Priority Ranking position is high enough to gain entry into the field.
Bray, who played for the Tar Heels 2000-01 – 2003-04, is the winningest golfer in school history with seven victories to his credit. Bray was a four-time selection to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference team (2001-2004), Carolina's only four-time honoree. A semifinalist at the 2002 U.S. Amateur, Bray was named to the 2003 PING All-America first team, the 2002 PING All-America second team and the 2004 Honorable Mention PING All-America. Bray represented the United States at the 2003 Palmer Cup and at the 2002 U.S./Japan Matches. Earlier this fall, in September, he won the eGolf Tour Island View Casino Championship in Gulfport, Miss.
Brad Fritsch captured medalist honors and with that comes full exemption for the entire 2015 season. He held the lead at the conclusion of the last four rounds and finished with a 27-under 402 total after firing a 5-under 66 on Tuesday. Andrew Landry finished seven strokes back in second place with a 20-under 409 total while Bray was another shot back at 19-under 410. Rhein Gibson finished in fourth place at 18-under 411 while two players tied for fifth place at 16-under 413 – Seamus Power and Tain Lee.
