Aker's Shutout Gives Navy Lead In FWS
October 17, 2015 | Baseball
CHAPEL HILL --- Cole Aker tossed a two-hit shutout to lead the Navy Team to its second win in the 2015 Fall World Series Friday night at Boshamer Stadium. Aker struck out six and walked just one over seven scoreless frames and Hunter Williams had three hits to lead the Navy offense.
Navy gave Aker all the support he would need in a three-run second against J.T. Rogoszewski and added single runs in the third and sixth for the final margin. Tyler Lynn and Utah Jones had RBIs for Navy, while Cody Roberts scored twice.
Ryder Ryan and Logan Warmoth had the lone hits for Blue, both singles.
Game four of the Fall World Series is set for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Admission is free to all spectators.
