Kay Named Top Singles Player At Kitty Harrison

CHAPEL HILL - Whitney Kay was awarded the top singles player at the 2015 Kitty Harrison Invitational, held this weekend in both Chapel Hill and Durham.
Kay, a senior for the Tar Heels, won 6-1, 6-1 on Sunday over Michelle Castro of East Carolina.
Kay went a perfect 3-0 in her singles matches this weekend.
All four Tar Heels in action came away with victories on Sunday over the Pirates.
Sophomore Marika Akkerman won 6-2, 6-3 over Maria Storozheva. Classmate Cassandra Vazquez was a 6-3, 6-3, winner over Sarah Sarjoo.
Freshman Chloe Ouellet-Pizer picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win over Katie Hoch.
