Four Tar Heels Named NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes

Louisville, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has named four Tar Heels on its list of NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes for the 2014-15 academic year. Returner Elly Wagner earns her second consecutive NFCA academic award along with Jenna Kelly '15, while Jordan Scarboro '15 and Lauren Walker '15 appeared on the academic team for the first time in their careers.
Kelly and Wagner represented the Tar Heels on the All-ACC Academic Team in 2015, while Walker was also named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll. Both Kelly and Walker were rewarded for their athletic success following their senior seasons, earning spots on the All-ACC Second Team and NFCA All-Southeast Region Third Team.
The Tar Heels garnered a program-high four Scholar-Athlete award for the third time in school history and the second year in a row. The Carolina upperclassmen were among 1,558 Division I honorees with a 3.5 grade-point average or higher, including 42 selections from the 11 members of the ACC.
