Thirteen Tar Heels Named To National Academic Squad

Thirteen members of the UNC field hockey team have been named to the 2015 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, announced Tuesday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
The award recognizes students who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher through the 2015 fall semester and are members of a Division I varsity field hockey team.
Four Tar Heels – Rachel Black, Emma Bozek, Casey Di Nardo and Emily Wold –earned the honor for the fourth time in their careers. Black, from Clemmons, N.C., finished her UNC field hockey career with the 2015 season and will enter the top-ranked UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy this fall. Bozek, from Cortlandt Manor, N.Y., will play her final season this fall after sitting out 2015. Di Nardo, from Virginia Beach, Va., will graduate in May with a degree in media and journalism and is a recipient of a 2016 ACC Weaver-James-Corrigan Postgraduate Scholarship. Wold, from Freehold, N.J., played her final season at UNC 2015 and is now training with the U.S. National Team.
Other UNC students named to the team are Kristy Bernatchez, Blissie Du Bose, Leila Evans, Halle Frain, Morgan Goetz, Alex Grant, Catherine Hayden, Mackenzie Mick and Sam Night. Du Bose and Night were honored for the third year in a row and Bernatchez for the second.
