CHAPEL HILL—Lacrosse Magazine has named North Carolina's Jenny Levy its 2016 National Coach of the Year, the publication announced. Levy led the Tar Heels to the NCAA championship, their second in the last four years, this spring.
A trio of UNC players earned All-America honors from LM, including senior defender Mallory Frysinger, sophomore midfielder Marie McCool and senior attacker Aly Messinger.
The Tar Heels went 20-2 overall in 2016, including 7-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season. Carolina won both the ACC and NCAA Tournaments for the second time while also winning a school-record 17 games in a row to close the season.
Levy earns national-coach-of-the-year honors for the second time after also doing so in 2013 following UNC's first NCAA title.
