Griffin Eighth at Seahawk Intercollegiate

Junior Ben Griffin shot a 2-under-par 70 in the final round to lead the University of North Carolina to a fourth-place finish at the Seahawk Intercollegiate March 20 at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington.
Griffin placed eighth in the 54-hole event with a 2-over 218. Jose Montaño tied for 22nd and Austin Hitt (tied 43rd) and William Register (tied 49th) also finished in the top 50.
Griffin opened with a 72. His 70 was Carolina's low round of the tournament.
The Tar Heels were fourth with a 906 after rounds of 300-312-295. UNC was three strokes behind runnerup Army and one behind Richmond.
Kent State easily won the team title with a 7-under 857.
Carolina returns to action this weekend at the Aggie Invitational at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas.
