UNC Hosts VCU Wednesday On Education Day

CHAPEL HILL - North Carolina will host its inaugural Education Day on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at Carmichael Arena beginning at 11 a.m. when the Tar Heels take on the VCU Rams.

SERIES HISTORY
North Carolina leads 1-0. The matchup is just the second all-time between Carolina and VCU. The only other meeting was a 77-65 Tar Heel win on Nov. 16, 2008 in Chapel Hill.
LAST TIME OUT
Paris Kea scored a game-high 25 points to lead North Carolina to a 73-60 victory over Kent State on Friday from Carmichael Arena. Carolina was led by Kea, but also received a double-double from Janelle Bailey with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Taylor Koenen grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.Â
FAST BREAK POINTS
• Coach Hatchell is five wins shy of setting the record for most wins at an ACC school (Currently held by Debbie Ryan, Virginia, 739).
• Paris Kea owns the highest scoring average in program history (18.4 ppg). She was a first team All-ACC selection in 2017-18 after averaging 19.4 points, the third highest total in the league last season.
• UNC is receiving votes in the Preseason USA Today Sports Coaches' poll.

The Tar Heels overcame an 18-point deficit in turning back the Buffaloes, 87-70, in overtime last Nov. 17 in Chapel Hill. Paris Kea (28) and Jamie Cherry (26) combined for 54 points in the comeback victory.
