UNC rated 16th in Face-Off Yearbook rankings
BALTIMORE, MD. - The University of North Carolina men's lacrosse team has been ranked 16th in the preseason Face-Off Yearbook Division I rankings. Face-Off Yearbook is published annually in conjunction with Inside Lacrosse, the nation's premier lacrosse website.
Coach Joe Breschi's team is coming off a 7-7 season in which is failed to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006. Every Tar Heel team coached by Breschi had made the NCAA Tournament field from 2009-17, including winning the 2016 NCAA championship. The Tar Heels won ACC Tournament championship under Breschi's leadership in 2013 and 2017.
Carolina was not ranked in the final 2018 polls issued by Inside Lacrosse (media poll) or the USILA poll (coaches). But an outstanding fall including scrimmages again High Point and Ohio State has the Tar Heels 16th in the preseason Face-Off Yearbook poll.
