Notre Dame Visits Tar Heels Saturday

• The North Carolina women's lacrosse team (7-3, 2-1 ACC) will host No. 22 Notre Dame (6-5, 2-3) on Saturday at noon at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, looking to win its second in a row and for the fifth time in six outings.
• The game will be streamed live by ACC Network Extra.
• Saturday will mark the second of three consecutive home dates for the Tar Heels. UNC beat No. 17 Virginia Tech on Wednesday March 28 and will host Louisville on Saturday April 7.
• Carolina has won four of its last five games, including a come-from-behind, 13-12 home victory over Virginia Tech on Wednesday.
• Carolina is ranked No. 5 this week in the IWLCA coaches poll and No. 5 in the Cascade media poll.
• The Fighting Irish are ranked No. 22 in the coaches poll but are unranked in the media poll.
SERIES HISTORY VS. NOTRE DAME
• Carolina leads the all-time series with Notre Dame, 7-0, including a win in Notre Dame last year, a pair of wins in 2016 in Chapel Hill and a 6-0 UNC advantage since the Fighting Irish joined the ACC prior to the 2014 season.
• UNC is 4-0 against Notre Dame in Chapel Hill and 4-0 vs. the Fighting Irish in the regular season.
• In 2017, UNC won, 16-9, at Notre Dame (see more details below).
• In 2016, Carolina beat the Fighting Irish, 14-8, in the regular season and 10-6 in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals. Both games were played at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill.

UNC 16, NOTRE DAME 9 (April 2, 2017)
• Second-ranked North Carolina got four goals from Molly Hendrick and five points from Carly Reed as the Tar Heels beat No. 12 Notre Dame, 16-0, on April 2, 2017, in Notre Dame, Ind.
• Hendrick led the way with a game-high four goals, and Reed had three goals and two assists. Marie McCool and Ela Hazar each had two goals and two assists, Sammy Jo Tracy scored three goals and Sydney Holman had a pair of assists. Maggie Bill and Marisa DiVietro each scored one goal.

FERRUCCI'S TWO LATE GOALS LEAD COMEBACK WIN OVER HOKIES (Wednesday, March 28, 2018)
• Olivia Ferrucci scored twice in a 31-second span in the final two minutes to lead Carolina to a 13-12 win over No. 17 Virginia Tech at Kenan Stadium on Wednesday afternoon March 28.
• After Carolina led early, 6-1, and by an 11-7 score with under 18 minutes to play in the second half, the Hokies rallied for five consecutive goals to take a 12-11 lead with 4:09 to go. Ferrucci scored unassisted with 1:57 left to tie it at 12-all, then took a pass from Katie Hoeg and scored with 1:26 remaining for the win.
• Carolina two goals and four assists from Hoeg on the day, along with two goals, two assists and 11 draw controls from Marie McCool. Jamie Ortega and Ela Hazar both had two goals and one assist. Kara Klages, Taylor McDaniels and Marisa DiVietro all scored single goals.
HAZAR IS THE FIRST TAR HEEL EVER TO COMPILE 100 CAREER ASSISTS
• Hazar became the first UNC player ever to record 100 career assists on March 28 when she tallied her 100th against Virginia Tech.
• Hazar holds Carolina records for most assists in a game (eight), a season (40, in 2017) and a career (100).
• Hazar set the UNC career record on March 17 at Northwestern, snapping the previous record of 92 set by Becky Lynch (2009-12).
• Hazar also set a school single-game record with eight assists in the 18-13 win at Northwestern on March 17.
McCOOL, HAZAR & KELLY NAMED MIDSEASON ALL-AMERICAS BY ILWOMEN
• Tar Heel seniors Marie McCool (midfield) and Ela Hazar (attack) both earned first-team midseason All-America honors this week (March 29) from Inside Lacrosse.
• Sophomore defender Erin Kelly was on the third team.
