Carolina Hosts Louisville Saturday

• The North Carolina women's lacrosse team (8-3, 3-1 ACC) will host Louisville (6-7, 0-4) on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, looking to win its third in a row and for the sixth time in the last seven outings.
• The game will be streamed live by ACC Network Extra.
• The contest against the Cardinals is part of a lacrosse doubleheader at Kenan on Saturday. At 6 p.m., the Tar Heel men will host Virginia.
• Saturday will mark the last of three consecutive home dates for the Tar Heels. UNC beat No. 17 Virginia Tech on Wednesday March 28 and No. 22 Notre Dame at home on Saturday March 31.
• Next weekend, UNC will play a pair of games in Syracuse, visiting the Orange on Saturday and playing a neutral site contest against Canisius at Christian Brothers Academy on Sunday. Carolina's final home game of the regular season will be on April 21 against Duke.
• UNC has won five of its last six games, including a pair of come-from-behind, 13-12 home victories last week over Virginia Tech and Notre Dame.

• Jamie Ortega scored a career-high six goals to lead the fifth-ranked North Carolina women's lacrosse team a come-from-behind, 13-12 win over No. 22 Notre Dame at Kenan Stadium on Saturday March 31.
• Carolina outscored the Fighting Irish, 11-6, in the second half after trailing, 6-2, at halftime. The Tar Heels went on an 11-3 run coming out of the locker room to take a 13-9 lead with 7:11 to go before allowing the Irish to score three in a row to make it close in the final minutes.
• Ortega's six goals surpass the five she scored against Liberty on February 18. Her six scores came on just nine shots.
• Katie Hoeg finished with two goals and two assists for the Tar Heels, who also got two goals and one assist from Kara Klages and a goal and two assists from Ela Hazar. Maggie Bill had two assists, while Marie McCool and Taylor McDaniels each scored once.
HAZAR IS THE FIRST TAR HEEL EVER TO COMPILE 100 CAREER ASSISTS
• Hazar became the first UNC player ever to record 100 career assists on March 28 when she tallied her 100th against Virginia Tech.
• Hazar holds Carolina records for most assists in a game (eight), a season (40, in 2017) and a career (102).
• Hazar set the UNC career record on March 17 at Northwestern, snapping the previous record of 92 set by Becky Lynch (2009-12).
• Hazar also set a school single-game record with eight assists in the same, 18-13 win at Northwestern on March 17.

ORTEGA NAMED NATIONAL & ACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
• Freshman attacker Jamie Ortega earned ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors on April 3 and IWLCA National Player of the Week honors on April 4.
• Ortega totaled nine points on eight goals and one assist in North Carolina's wins over No. 17 Virginia Tech and No. 22 Notre Dame.
• She scored a career-high six goals in the 13-12 win over the Fighting Irish, including five in the second half as the Tar Heels overcame a four-goal halftime deficit. • Tar Heel seniors Marie McCool (midfield) and Ela Hazar (attack) both earned first-team midseason All-America honors this week (March 29) from Inside Lacrosse.
• Sophomore defender Erin Kelly was on the third team.

• Senior attacker Ela Hazar was named the ACC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week on March 20.
• Hazar set a UNC program record with eight assists in Carolina's 18-13 win at ninth-ranked Northwestern on March 17. In the process, she also became Carolina's career assist leader with 98, eclipsing the previous record of 92 set by Becky Lynch from 2009-12. Hazar also had three goals and five assists in the March 13 12-1 win over Elon, along with two ground balls. For the week, Hazar tallied 16 points on three goals and 13 assists in two games.
McCOOL & TRENCHARD SWEEP ACC HONORS AFTER MARYLAND WIN
• Following an overtime win over top-ranked Maryland, North Carolina senior midfielder Marie McCool was named the ACC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate freshman defender Emma Trenchard was the ACC Defensive Player of the Week (February 27).
• McCool led UNC to a 16-15 overtime win over No. 1 Maryland with four goals, one assist, eight draw controls, two caused turnovers and a ground ball. McCool assisted on teammate Ela Hazar's game-tying goal with 22 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime. In the extra period, she scored the game-winner off an assist from Jamie Ortega.
• Trenchard led a strong Tar Heel defensive effort, controlling four draws, collecting three ground balls and causing three turnovers. Trenchard controlled the draw to start overtime, then brought the ball into the offensive end to start the possession that included the game-winning goal by McCool. The Windsor, Conn., native helped guide a UNC defense that held Maryland scoreless for the final 9:25 of the game.

• Midfielder Marie McCool is among the most decorated players in the nation and was a 2018 Midseason All-America by ILWomen.com.
• She leads the Tar Heels with 36 goals, 44 points and 81 draw controls this season.
• The do-it-all McCool tied her career high with seven goals on Feb. 18 versus Liberty and controlled a career-high 13 draws on March 3 against Florida.
• McCool won ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Feb. 27 after tallying four goals, an assist and eight draw controls in UNC's win over Maryland.
• She was one of five 2017 finalists for the Tewaaraton Award, the highest individual honor in the sport, as well as one of four nominees for the 2017 Honda Award for Lacrosse. • Fifth-year senior midfielder Maggie Bill returned to the field for her first game action in nearly a year when she came off the bench to play against Florida on March 3.
