Minnesota Lynx Sign Forward Erlana Larkins

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx announced the team has signed former North Carolina star forward Erlana Larkins to a seven-day contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Larkins, an eight-year veteran, was a WNBA champion with Indiana in 2012 and made the Finals in 2015 with the Fever.
Last season with Indiana, she saw action in all 34 games, starting in 17 of them, averaging 4.9 ppg (58.1%) and 4.2 rpg in 18.0 mpg.
In her best season as a pro, the 6-1 Larkins averaged a career-best 9.7 ppg on 59.9% shooting and a career-high 9.7 rpg in 2014 with the Fever. She led the league with a 59.9 percent clip as well as ranking third in the WNBA with 1.94 steals per game and was fourth in rebounding. Larkins' 14 double-figure rebounding games were the most in a single-season in Indiana history. Her 303 total rebounds were also a Fever franchise record.
In 234 career games (122 starts) with Indiana and New York, the West Palm Beach, Florida native holds career averages of 6.1 points (on 55.7% shooting), 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 21.1 minutes per game.
Larkins averaged 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game as a Tar Heel All-America, shooting 57.1% from the floor. She became the seventh player in ACC history with 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 300 assists, 200 steals and 100 blocks in a career.
Drafted by New York in the first round (14th overall) of the 2008 WNBA Draft, Larkins has appeared in 37 postseason games (29 starts) including starting in nine of the Fever's 10 playoff games during their 2012 title run. She holds postseason averages of 8.2 ppg (54.2%), 8.5 rpg and 1.2 apg in 28.6 mpg.
