CHAPEL HILL - Carolina continues its three-game home stretch by hosting Boston College on Thursday. The Tar Heels are 16-11 overall, 7-6 in the ACC, after their 70-53 win over Virginia on Sunday. BC is 14-12, 3-10 in conference play. The Eagles have lost five in a row, including a 91-58 result to Clemson on Feb. 16.

Carolina leads 13-3 in the series with the Eagles. UNC snapped a mini two-game losing streak to BC with a 69-64 win in the first round of the 2018 ACC Tournament. Paris Kea scored 28 points in that win in her hometown and has averaged 22.0 points in three career games against the Eagles.

On an afternoon that saw North Carolina honor its past on Alumni Day, the present day Tar Heels place four in double figures that led to a 70-53 victory over Virginia on Sunday from Carmichael Arena. The 25th anniversary team that won the 1994 NCAA National Championship was recognized all weekend long, including Sunday when the entire team took the court between the third and fourth quarters to a resounding applause from the announced crowd of 3,445. The 1984 ACC Championship team was honored and all alumni on hand gathered during halftime.
Paris Kea scored a team-high 16 points, including seven alone in the fourth quarter for North Carolina (16-11, 7-6 Atlantic Coast Conference). Taylor Koenen registered a double-double for the third time this season with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Janelle Bailey and Shayla Bennett were each a rebound shy of their own double-double. Bailey scored 14 points and Bennett added 10.Â
BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION
UNC is honoring four individuals this evening as part of our Black History Month Celebration.
• Charlotte Smith: The first National Player of the Year in Tar Heel women's basketball history.
• Tracy Reid: The first WNBA Draft selection in Tar Heel history when the Charlotte Sting made her the 7th overall selection in the 1998 draft.
• Dr. Harry Stafford: The head primary care physician for UNC women's basketball.
• Rear Admiral Larry L. Poe: Class of 1965 graduate of UNC who completed parallel careers with both the CIA and the United States Navy.
