Tar Heels Drop Series Finale at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Despite taking the series, North Carolina was unable to complete the sweep on Sunday at Louisville, falling 6-1 in the Tar Heels' final ACC game of the season.

The Cardinals plated five runs on four hits in the first and a sixth run in the fourth to solidify the win. Carolina fought to the end as Zoë Goodman drove in UNC's lone run but it was not enough to come back.

The Tar Heels wrap up the regular season at home Tuesday at 7 p.m. vs. NC Central. With the loss, UNC falls to 33-16, 17-7 in league play. Louisville improves to 33-17, 12-9 in conference.

» The Cardinals got on the board first on a two-run single by Kyra Snyder. Louisville plated three more runs on walk and pair of singles before Abby Settlemyre threw to Megan Dray for the final out at home.
» After a pair of scoreless frames, Taylor Roby upped the score to 6-0 on a ground ball to second.
» The Tar Heels showed their fight in the sixth with a pair of base runners. Kiani Ramsey led off the frame with a single to left and Leah Murray drew a walk, but Carolina was unable to convert.
