Six Tar Heels Earn All-America Honors From ILWomen

CHAPEL HILL—Six University of North Carolina players earned spots on the third annual Inside Lacrosse All-America teams for the 2019 season.

Sophomore attacker Jamie Ortega and sophomore defender Emma Trenchard grabbed spots on the first team.  Junior attacker Katie Hoeg and sophomore goalie Taylor Moreno earned second-team recognition. Senior Charlotte Sofield was an honorable mention choice at defender, and senior midfielder Gianna Bowe also was an honorable mention pick.

ILWomen contributors and members of lacrosse media chose the 2019 season's top 12 attackers, nine midfielders, 12 defenders, top three draw specialists, and top three goalies. Honorable mention selections are chosen based on players who received multiple votes, but did not accrue the totals of the first, second, or third honorees.
