UNC Back At Carmichael Thursday To Host Hurricanes

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The UNC women's basketball returns home to Carmichael Arena this week, kicking off a two-game Atlantic Coast Conference homestand by hosting Miami on Thursday at 6 p.m. Next up is a battle with No. 5 Louisville, which visits Sunday at 1 p.m.

Thursday's game is the 24th meeting between UNC (12-4, 3-2 ACC) and Miami (10-6, 2-3 ACC). Carolina leads the series 13-10, but the Hurricanes have won the last four meetings, most recently 76-68 on Jan. 20, 2019, at Miami. The last time the teams met in Chapel Hill, on Feb. 4, 2018, Miami won 92-72.
The Tar Heels' last win in the series was during the 2014-15 season, 66-65 in Coral Gables. UNC last beat Miami at Carmichael on Jan. 2, 2012, winning 65-63.

• All five UNC starters are averaging between 14.2 and 11.9 points per game.
• Senior Taylor Koenen scored her 1,000th career point in the game at FSU on Sunday. She's the 38th player in program history to reach that mark.

• The Hurricanes are led in scoring by senior forward Beatrice Mompremier, the ACC Preseason Player of the Year who averages 16.3 points and a team-high 10.4 rebounds per game. Gray averages 12.0 points per game and Marshall adds 10.7.
• Gray comes into Thursday's game just six points away from 1,000 points for her career.
