CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The North Carolina gymnastics team will continue their 2020 season on Saturday, Jan. 25 with a home meet against Pittsburgh. The meet will take place in Carmichael Arena at 3:45 p.m. and will honor the Carolina athletic department's slogan, "Together We Win."
"We are looking forward to competing at home again," said North Carolina head coach Derek Galvin. "It was a good team experience at Kentucky. I was very pleased with the way the team performed. We learned a little bit more about the team. We learned that this team has grit and that they like to compete."
The Tar Heels are looking to add another win after defeating NC State (194.425) and Lindenwood (193.300) and taking second-place to No. 11 Kentucky (196.375) in their first quad meet of the season last Friday with a score of 194.625.

Hislop's score of 9.850 that earned her a fourth-place finish also contributed to this effort.

THE OPPONENT
So far this season, Pittsburgh has competed against No. 18 New Hampshire and Ball State, losing both competitions by less than a point. Pittsburgh is a reputable EAGL opponent and the competition is expected to be close on Saturday.
"Pittsburgh is well-matched with our team. Obviously they're an EAGL opponent, but they're also an ACC school," said Galvin. "We know that anytime that a school from the ACC or the EAGL faces each other, it is going to be a good competition."
