CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The North Carolina women's basketball team meets Miami Monday afternoon for a 2 p.m. game that will air live on ACC Network. In a pop-up game that was scheduled after others were postponed, the Tar Heels are looking for their first Atlantic Coast Conference win of the season.
The Series
The Tar Heels and Hurricanes are meeting for the 25th time in a series that dates back to the 1980-81 season. UNC leads the overall series 14-10 following a 78-58 win in Chapel Hill last season.
• The Tar Heels lead 11-8 since the Hurricanes joined the ACC in 2004-05.
• UNC's last road win in the series was in the 2014-15 season.
• In last year's matchup at Carmichael Arena, Tar Heel center Janelle Bailey led all scorers with a season-high 28 points (season high). She also had a game-high 15 rebounds for one of her 11 double-doubles during the season.
• Three current Tar Heels played in the last matchup in Coral Gables, with Stephanie Watts and Jaelynn Murray starting and Janelle Bailey coming off the bench in UNC's 76-68 loss on Jan. 20, 2019. Watts was the leading scorer in the game with 22 points and also the leading rebounder with 14, a total that still stands as her career high for boards.
• Watts also started in UNC's 100-88 loss at Miami during the 2016-17 season (1/26/17), so Monday's game is her third in Coral Gables.
Scouting the Hurricanes
Miami is 3-1 overall and 0-1 in ACC play following a 69-58 loss to Syracuse at the Watsco Center on Thursday. Redshirt junior Destiny Hardin led the Hurricanes with 11 points.
On the season, senior guard Kelsey Marshall is the team's top scorer, averaging 15.5 points per game. Harden is also in double figures with 11.5 points per game. Sophomore guard Moulayna Johnson Sidi Baba is the team's top rebounder with 6.5 boards per game.
Notable Numbers

• UNC's 98 points against South Carolina State was the most the team had scored under coach Courtney Banghart.
• The Tar Heels lead the ACC in scoring margin and rank second in assist-turnover ratio, turnover margin, defense and field goal percentage defense. UNC is one of just three schools (joining Louisville and NC State) to rank in the top 10 in the league in every statistical category.
