Tar Heels Travel to Take On Top-Ranked Louisville
January 28, 2021 | Women's Basketball
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The North Carolina women's basketball team faces off with top-ranked Louisville Thursday night in an Atlantic Coast Conference road game at the KFC Yum! Center. The action will air live on the ACC Network.
Fans can watch online here, listen to the radio broadcast here and follow live stats here.
UNC comes into the game 8-5 overall and 3-5 in ACC play following Sunday's 78-73 homecourt win over Notre Dame. The Cardinals, ranked No. 1 for the first time in program history, are 15-0 overall and 8-0 in ACC play. They are one of three undefeated teams atop AP Top 25 poll, along with No. 2 NC State and No. 3 Connecticut.
The game was originally scheduled for Dec. 13 but was postponed to Jan. 5 and then postponed again to its current date.
Louisville leads the all-time series 7-3 and has won the last seven in a row, including six meetings in ACC regular-season play and one in the 2015 ACC Tournament. UNC's three wins in the series came at neutral sites, so the Tar Heels have never won in Louisville.
UNC's last trip to Louisville was Jan. 3, 2019, and the Cardinals won that game 73-66. Current Tar Heels Janelle Bailey and Stephanie Watts played 40 minutes each in that game and shared the scoring lead with 16 points apiece.

Next up for the Tar Heels is another conference road game as they head to Blacksburg, Va. to play Virginia Tech on Sunday.
