Tar Heels Debut In AP WBB Poll At No. 25

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina is ranked in the Associated Press women's basketball poll for the first time since 2015, debuting at 25th in the Dec. 13th rankings.
The Tar Heels are 9-0 this season heading into Wednesday's 6 p.m. home game against Jacksonville.
Following a 107-46 win over UNC Asheville on Sunday, Carolina ranks in the top five in the NCAA stats in six categories:
• Second in scoring margin (+36.2)
• Second in field goal percentage defense (30.8 by opponents)
• Fourth in rebounding margin (+15.3)
• Fifth in scoring defense (48.3 ppg by opponents)
• Fifth in scoring offense (84.6 ppg)
• Fifth in three-point percentage (41.0)
The Tar Heels are among 10 undefeated teams tied for first in won-lost percentage.
UNC was last ranked in the AP poll in the 2015-16 preseason. The Tar Heels moved into the USA TODAY/WBCA coaches' poll last week at No. 24.
