BLACKSBURG, Va. – A pair of pole vaulters provided headlines Saturday as the North Carolina track & field teams competed at the second and final day of the Virginia Tech Invitational. The meet, hosted by the Hokies at Rector Field House, opened the indoor season for the Tar Heels.

In the men's pole vault, Ben Finger twice set new personal bests, clearing five meters twice and ending the day at 16-10.75 (5.15), ninth in UNC indoor history. He placed second on the day and was the top collegiate competitor.

In women's pole vault, Alex Potts also turned in a lifetime best with a height of 13-5 (4.09), tied for fourth-best in the UNC record books and good for third on the day.

In the women's long jump, All-America Anna Keefer took silver with a distance of 20-5.75 (6.24).

The Tar Heels also got silver in the high jump, with Sydney Banks clearing 5-5.25 (1.66m) to place second.
