Wofford Visits Carmichael Sunday For WBB Matchup

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Tar Heels have just two remaining nonconference home games and they'll play the first of those on Sunday afternoon, hosting Wofford at Carmichael Arena for a 1 p.m. women's basketball tipoff.
It's the program's annual Book Drive Game, collecting donations for Book Harvest. Each fan who brings a new or gently used children's book to donate will receive a free ticket to Sunday's game.
The eighth-ranked Tar Heels come into the game at 7-1 following Wednesday's 64-42 win over UNCW. The Terriers are 7-2 and have won their last seven in a row.
The game will air live on ACC Network Extra and also on the Tar Heel Radio Network.
Sunday's game is the second of five straight games that UNC will play in the state, with four of those at home. Following the Wofford matchup, the Tar Heels will host USC-Upstate on Dec. 16. After that it's off to Charlotte to meet Michigan in the Jumpman Invitational on Dec. 20.
UNC opens Atlantic Coast Conference play at home on Dec. 29 against Florida State. The Tar Heels' next trip outside North Carolina is to play Virginia Tech on Jan. 1.
• Final exams at UNC ended on Friday. By the time the Tar Heels start classes again on Jan. 9 they'll be four games into the ACC season.
• Four Tar Heels are currently scoring in double figures, led by Deja Kelly with 15.7 points per game. Alyssa Ustby is scoring 14.6 and leading the team with 8.5 rebounds per game, Kennedy Todd-Williams is averaging 14.3 ppg, and Eva Hodgson is averaging 12.0.
Carolina is the only school with four players ranked among the league's top 24 in scoring average (Kelly 8th, Ustby 10th, Todd-Williams 11th, Hodgson 24th).
• North Carolina and Wofford are meeting for the seventh time in a series that dates back to the 2003-04 season. The teams played six years in a row then haven't met since Nov. 25, 2008, when Carolina won 96-42 in Chapel Hill. UNC leads the series 6-0.
UNC and Wofford have had one common opponent so far this season. Carolina played UNCW at home on Wednesday, winning 64-42, and Wofford played the Seahawks on the road on Nov. 22, winning 67-66.
• Two Tar Heels rank among the ACC's top five in assist-turnover ratio. Deja Kelly is second in the ACC and ranks sixth nationally at 4.4. Eva Hodgson is fifth in the ACC and 46th in the NCAA at 2.4. As a team, UNC's assist-turnover ratio of 1.34 is best in the ACC and 16th in the nation.
• Destiny Adams ranks sixth in the ACC in blocks with 1.5 per game. She's averaging 2.0 over the past four outings.
• UNC leads the ACC in assist-turnover ratio and turnover margin.
