Wolfe Sets School Record At Camel City Invite
February 5, 2022 | Track & Field
Freshman Parker Wolfe set a school record in the men's 3000 meter run and graduate student Alex Ostberg turned in a time that ranks third in program history on Saturday at the Camel City Classic in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Competing at the JDL Fast Track, Wolfe ran a time of 7:52.39, beating the 7:53.32 that former Tar Heel Jim Farmer ran in 1988. He placed sixth in the men's elite field and fourth among collegiate runners. Ostberg was ninth overall in 7:55.37.
Ostberg and Wolfe were the only Tar Heels competing this weekend, but next weekend will be a busy one for UNC. Carolina is set to compete at the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, S.C.; at the Darius Dixon Invitational in Lynchburg, Va.; and at the Boston Valentine Invitational.
