Gymnastics Finishes Regular Season At No. 24 Georgia

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Carolina gymnastics team will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, facing No. 24 Georgia on the road at 4 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga.

The Carolina gymnastics team finished regular-season EAGL play undefeated on March 6, earning a 196.475-195.075 victory on the road at LIU, improving to 7-0 in the conference. With the victory, the Tar Heels officially clinched the EAGL regular season title outright.
The Tar Heels took home four event titles in the win: vault (Emery Summey), beam (Liz Culton), Floor (Hannah Nam) and the all-around (Julia Knower), while seven Carolina gymnasts either set or matched their career bests.
A Record-Breaking Season
The Tar Heels travel to Washington D.C. for the EAGL Championship on March 19.

A Record-Breaking Season
- The Tar Heels posted a season-best 49.300 on bars at LIU. It was Carolina's best bar score since March 5, 2004
- Elizabeth Culton's 9.975 on beam at LIU on March 6 was the second-highest score on the event in school history, matching Courtney Bumpers who earned a 9.975 on March 5, 2004. Brooke Wilson is the only Tar Heel with a 10 on the event in school history (2/3/2001)
- Carolina's 196.625 at NC State on Feb. 19 was the highest team score since Feb. 27, 2004
- Lali Dekanoidze became just the sixth gymnast in program history to score a 39.550 or better in the all-around on Feb. 12
- The Tar Heels opened the season with a 195.70 on Jan 7, the highest season-opening score in program history
- Carolina set a new program attendance record on Jan. 7, with 4,125 fans attending the first meet of the season
The Tar Heels travel to Washington D.C. for the EAGL Championship on March 19.
