EUGENE, Ore. – Graduate student Madison Wiltrout placed third in women's javelin Thursday evening at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Her throw of 183-5 (56.46m) was good for the bronze medal, behind BYU's Ashton Riner (191-1) and Nebraska's Maddie Harris (189-3).

Wiltrout, from Connellsville, Pa., earned first-team All-America honors by virtue of placing in the top eight in her event.

Two other Tar Heels earned second-team All-America honors on Thursday. Jill Shippee placed ninth overall in the women's hammer and Anna Keefer was 10^th in the long jump.

Sasha Neglia placed 20^th in the women's steeplechase, missing out advancing to the finals.

One more Tar Heel is set to compete in Eugene. Alex Ostberg, a graduate student from Darien, Conn., will run in the men's 5,000 meters, which is set for Friday at 7:55 p.m. PT.
