Tar Heels vs. Eagles
UNC and Boston College are meeting for the 20th time overall and the first time in Chapel Hill since 2019. Carolina leads the series 15-4 after a come-from-behind victory to open ACC play last season.
• UNC won the most recent matchup 76-73 in Chestnut Hill, Mass., on Dec. 19, 2021. The Tar Heels trailed by 15 early in the fourth quarter and were down by seven with 2:23 to play but stormed back to earn the victory in the conference opener for both teams.
• The last meeting in Chapel Hill was on Feb. 21, 2019. UNC won 93-78 behind a career-high 31 points from Janelle Bailey. Taylor Soule – who now plays for Virginia Tech, which visits Carmichael later this month – led the Eagles with 21 points. Emma Guy, who is now a graduate assistant on the BC coaching staff, scored 15.
• The teams were scheduled to meet in Chapel Hill on Feb. 11, 2021 but that game was canceled due to Covid protocols.
Coming up
UNC travels to Raleigh to face NC State on Thursday then returns home to Carmichael to host Wake Forest next Sunday. Tipoff for that game is 4 p.m.
Noting the Tar Heels
• The Tar Heels are coming off back-to-back road losses, at Louisville and Syracuse. UNC led both games at halftime.
• Carolina has five wins over teams ranked in the AP poll, including two that were top 5 at game time.
• Juniors Deja Kelly and Alyssa Ustby were announced on Tuesday as part of the 30-member Naismith Trophy Midseason Team. Carolina is one of five schools to have two players on the list.
• While the Tar Heels had the same starting five for all 32 games last season, this year they've had five different starting combinations so far. Kennedy Todd-Williams and Anya Poole (also part of last year's five) are the only Tar Heels to start all 24 games this year.

Over the past four games, UNC is averaging 20 ppg off turnovers, compared with 16.8 ppg for the season.
