CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The No. 1 University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team is set to embark on a two-game road swing, first traveling to Louisville, Kentucky, to take on the Cardinals on Thursday, March 16.

First draw is set for 1 p.m. ET at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium and the game will be aired on ACCNX.

Entering Thursday's contest, undefeated North Carolina has…

won 46 consecutive regular season games, the second longest streak in NCAA history
won 25 consecutive regular season ACC games
won 28 games in a row, setting a new program record for longest win streak
won 19 consecutive road games (excluding neutral site games)
gone 72-6 in its last 78 games against ACC opponents (regular season and postseason)
defeated three top-10 teams by a combined 23 goals this season
scored double-figure goals for 63 times in its last 65 games
won 55 of its last 56 games, and 63 of its last 65

The top-ranked Tar Heels are coming off a 17-12 win over No. 9 Virginia on March 11, their third top-10 win of the season. Caroline Godine led the way with a game-high five points behind her second-straight hat trick and two assists while nine additional UNC players found the back of the cage at least once.

A few major milestones are on the horizon for the Tar Heels…

UNC is one win away from 47 consecutive regular season win streaks, the second longest streak in women's lacrosse history.
Head coach Jenny Levy, the winningest coach in league history, is one win away from 100 ACC career victories.
Caitlyn Wurzburger is nine assists away from being tied for seventh all-time in UNC history for career assists (77)

This will be the 10th meeting all-time between North Carolina and Louisville, with UNC leading the series at an undefeated 9-0. Last year, the Tar Heels posted a 12-8 win over the Cardinals in Chapel Hill. Olivia Dirks, Elizabeth Hillman and Wurzburger combined for seven points during that game.

UNC is currently 6-0 on the year and 3-0 in Atlantic Coast Conference action while UofL is 4-3 overall with a 1-2 mark in league play.
