Tar Heels Secure Third Seed In ACC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team has earned the third seed in the 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship, presented by Ally.
Securing a first-round bye, the Tar Heels will play sixth-seed Clemson in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m. ET at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The newly expanded championship format begins Sunday, April 23, with first round games being held at campus sites. The tournament then moves to American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte for the quarterfinals (Wednesday, April 26), semifinals (Friday, April 28) and championship (Sunday, April 30).
All nine contests will be televised on ACC Network with live studio coverage surrounding the semifinal and championship games.
North Carolina, which checked in at No. 6/5 in the latest IWLCA/USA Lacrosse Magazine polls, is the six-time reigning ACC Tournament champion and has won the title every year since 2016 (2020 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic).
The Tar Heels will be seeking their seventh-straight, and eighth overall, league title, having won their first in 2002.

2 p.m. – No. 9 Duke at No. 8 Louisville

11 a.m. – No. 1 Boston College vs. No. 8 Louisville/No. 9 Duke winner
1:30 p.m. – No. 4 Virginia vs. No. 5 Notre Dame
4 p.m. – No. 2 Syracuse vs. No. 7 Virginia Tech/No. 10 Pitt winner
6:30 p.m. – No. 3 North Carolina vs. No. 6 Clemson

1 p.m. – Boston College-Louisville/Duke winner vs. Virginia/Notre Dame winner
