No. 4 Women’s Lacrosse Hosts Sacred Heart In NCAA Tournament First Round

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – After securing the No. 4 overall seed, University of North Carolina women's lacrosse is set to host first and second round games of the 2023 NCAA Championship this weekend at Dorrance Field in Chapel Hill.
The Tar Heels will take on Sacred Heart at 2 p.m. ET on Friday, May 12, in the first round before hosting Richmond and Marquette at 5 p.m. The winner of game one will play the winner of game two in the second round on Sunday, May 14, at noon.
All games will be broadcast on ESPN+ and tickets are available here. Purchase of a first round ticket gains access to both Friday games and reentry will be permitted.
Parking will be altered due to commencement ceremonies. ADA parking will be in Cobb Deck with a complimentary shuttle. Public parking will be available in the Rams Head Deck ($1.75/hour) and Raleigh Road Lot prior to 4 p.m. Parking in the Bell Tower Deck will be available after 4:00 p.m. for free.
NCAA Tournament Tidbits
This will be the first meeting in program history between North Carolina (14-4, 7-2 ACC) and Sacred Heart (11-7, 8-0 NEC). The Pioneers are riding a 10-game win streak and are coming off their fourth Northeast Conference championship.
Friday's game will be the first in 12 days for the Tar Heels, who fell to No. 4 Boston College in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship on April 30 after knocking off No. 2 Syracuse in the semifinals.
Carolina checked in at No. 4 and No. 3, respectively, in the latest IWLCA and USA Lacrosse Magazine polls.
