Baseball Set For Final Midweek Game At Coastal Carolina

CONWAY, S.C. – The UNC baseball team travels to Conway, S.C., for its final midweek matchup, facing No. 8 Coastal Carolina on Tuesday night. The first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Spring Brooks Stadium, and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
 The Tar Heels are 14-3 in midweek games this season with a 2-0 record in true road games. One of their three losses was against Coastal Carolina in Chapel Hill on March 28, 12-7.
UNC led 7-4 after seven innings in the first meeting, but Coastal Carolina scored eight runs in the eighth as nine consecutive batters reached base with one out. Johnny Castagnozzi and Casey Cook each collected two hits for UNC.
Bryce Shaffer, who is scheduled to start for Coastal Carolina on Tuesday, pitched 1.0 inning with a walk and strikeout.

Despite the loss, UNC holds a sizable advantage in the all-time series, 47-21, including a 13-7 record on the road.
