ALBANY, N.Y. - Eleven North Carolina men's lacrosse alumni are set to begin the 2023 Premier Lacrosse League season this weekend, Saturday and Sunday at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium on the campus of UAlbany.
Six of the league's eight clubs will feature UNC representation on their respective 25-man rosters, led by four Tar Heels on Chaos Lacrosse Club with Will Bowen, Chris Cloutier, Will Perry and Jack Rowlett.
This year's 13th-overall pick Connor Maher joins Archers Lacrosse Club, teaming up with fellow defensive midfielder Mark McNeill. Former Archer Marcus Holman signed with Cannons Lacrosse Club in the offseason, joining former UNC face-off specialist Stephen Kelly.
The 2022 champion Waterdogs Lacrosse Club and 2023 Championship Series winning Chrome Lacrosse Club each feature one former Tar Heel, as Zac Tucci starts year two with the Waterdogs, and Justin Anderson starts year three with the Chrome.
Rounding out the action, back in his familiar No. 4 jersey, 2022 All-Star Chris Gray and Atlas Lacrosse Club will be joined by a familiar face, as Tar Heel defensive coordinator Kevin Unterstein begins year one in the same role for the club.
