Track & Field Teams Launch 2024 Outdoor Season At Phoenix Invitational

The University of North Carolina men's and women's outdoor track and field teams will begin their 2024 season this weekend at the Phoenix Invitational. The event, hosted by Elon University, is set for Friday at the Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex in Burlington, North Carolina.
Carolina wrapped up its indoor season last weekend at the NCAA Championships, securing a historic fifth-place finish. This tied the team's best performance since 1973 and set a new team record with 26 points, surpassing the previous high of 21 points from 1992.
The UNC men won their first at the Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Championships since 1996 and 4th in school history, and the women finished 11th.
