Nalls Tabbed To IWLCA All-America Second Team

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina women's lacrosse player Emily Nalls has earned All-America Second Team honors today by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association, marking the final national recognition of her standout five-year career.
Regarded as one of the best defenders in the country, Nalls has earned All-America praise from IWLCA the past three seasons. She was also named All-America Second Team from both ILWomen and USA Lacrosse earlier this year.
Named a top-25 nominee for the prestigious Tewaaraton Award for the second year in a row, Nalls finished the 2024 season with a team-leading 28 caused turnovers and 32 ground balls. The graduate co-captain also ranked second on the roster with a career-high 60 draw controls, even adding two goals and an assist.
The Glenwood, Maryland native put together one of the best performances by a defender in program history. Nalls amassed 165 ground balls, 105 caused turnovers and 181 draw controls throughout her five-year career. She will graduate as a two-time ACC champion and the 2022 NCAA champion.
Furthermore, Nalls concluded her time in Carolina blue having started all 88 games of her college career, the most among all active Division I players during the 2024 season. Her 88 starts is tied for second-most in school history.
In addition to her trio of All-America Second Team accolades, Nalls was tabbed to the IWLCA All-South Region First Team and All-ACC First Team earlier this year.
