September 25, 2024 | Cross Country
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina Cross Country team faces one of the toughest fields so far this season when it travels to Wisconsin for the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational presented by Under Armor on Friday, Sep. 27, in Madison, Wisconsin.
Carolina is in the field with at least a dozen of the country's top-ranked teams in a race that will be live-streamed on Runnerspace (Subscription required) and Big 10 + (Subscription required).Â
The women's "B" 6k race starts at 12:00 p.m. EST, with three Tar Heels running in it. The women's "A" 5k will follow at 1:20 p.m. EST. The men's 8k "A" race will wrap up the day's events at 2:00 p.m. EST.
The Tar Heels will race on the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course, which will also host the National Championship in November.Â
Last Time Out:
The Tar Heels swept the Virginia Invitational as Brynn Brown's first-place finish earned her ACC and National Athlete of the Week awards on Sep. 16-17. Jacob Laney earned ACC Freshman of the Week on the men's side as he helped score points to help the men sweep that competition.Â
Last Time at Nuttycombe:
During the 2023-24 season, then-junior Parker Wolfe and former Tar Heel Alex Phillip finished in the top 15, and the Carolina men's team placed 10th.
