Tar Heels Shine At ACC Tipoff In Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Less than a month remains until the start of the 2025-26 basketball season, as North Carolina took center stage Monday afternoon at the annual ACC Tipoff event from the Hilton Uptown. Head coach Courtney Banghart along with guards Reniya Kelly and Indya Nivar talked all things Carolina to preview the upcoming campaign.
The Tar Heels bring back eight letter-winners from last season's Sweet 16 squad, including Kelly and Nivar who boast starting experience. Banghart and Co. hit the portal to bring in standouts in Elina Aarnisalo from UCLA and Nyla Harris from Louisville. The Tar Heels also bring in four freshmen, including three of ESPN's top 75 recruits in the class of 2025.
Putting its foot on the gas, Carolina is set to challenge seven NCAA Tournament teams during the non-conference slate and face off against three of last year's Final Four squads.
