Fifteen Football Players Earn All-ACC Academic Honors

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Fifteen members of the North Carolina football team were named to the 2024 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team on Friday.
The Tar Heels earning the academic honor include; Beau Atkinson, Aidan Banfield, Will Hardy, Jake Johnson, Garrett Jordan, Caleb LaVallee, Gibson Macrae, Tom Maginness, Luke Masterson, Deems May, Lucas Osada, Jaiden Patterson, Jordan Shipp, Ryan Ward and Malcom Ziglar.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade-point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Additionally, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
Hardy and Macrae received All-ACC Academic Team recognition for the third time in their careers, while Maginness and Atkinson were honored for the second time.
