Gymnastics Heads To Tuscaloosa For Regionals

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina gymnastics is headed back to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the second time this season, but this time it's in the postseason. UNC will compete as a team at the University of Alabama in the regional championship for the second time in three years.
UNC will take on (6) California, (11) Alabama, and Iowa in the first session on Friday, April 4, at 2:00 p.m. EST. The meet will be streamed on ESPN+, and fans can follow along with the live stats.
The top two teams from each semifinal will advance to the finals on Sunday, April 6. After Sunday, the top two teams from each region automatically advance to the National Championship in Fort Worth, Texas.
Last Time Out:
The Tar Heels finished third in the ACC Championships with a score of 197.225. That is the third-best team score – and the fifth 197.0+ – in school history, plus the highest in the Danna Durante era. Lali Dekanoidze won the ACC Championship on bars, defending her title. Gwen Fink was also co-champion on beam as well.
