CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - University of North Carolina sophomores Betty Nelson and Eliza Osburn have been named Sportswomen of Colorado Lacrosse Co-Honorees for their outstanding 2025 seasons, the organization announced on Friday. Both Nelson and Osburn were key cogs in Carolina's undefeated, National Championship season as freshman and racked up a number of accolades along the way. Osburn was honored last year in the high school division for her senior season at Valor Christian.
Nelson started all 22 games in '25 and led the country in goals against average at 7.37 goals per game. She earned third-team All-America honors and was a member of both the NCAA and ACC All-tournament teams.
Also a third-team All-American, Osburn posted 35 goals, eight assists, 56 draw controls and 16 groundballs, while emerging as one of the game's dynamic forces in the midfield. She claimed ACC Freshman of the Year honors and was a member of both the NCAA and ACC All-Tournament teams.
Founded in 1974, Sportswomen of Colorado is a community-based organization that promotes, honors, and empowers Colorado girls and women in sport by celebrating excellence, supporting participation, eliminating barriers, and connecting female athletes, coaches, and contributors across all levels in the state. They achieve this through their annual awards, sports camp scholarships, satellite sports clinics led by women's collegiate teams, and by raising the visibility of women's athletic achievements.
