No. 1 Women's Lacrosse To Open ACC Tournament Against Duke Wednesday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 1 North Carolina will open the ACC Tournament when it takes on No. 19 Duke at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte on Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Tar Heels won the ACC regular season championship and finished off their second consecutive undefeated season in conference play. This will be the 47th match-up between the longtime rivals with Carolina holding a 32-14 edge all-time. The two teams met to end the regular season last Thursday with Carolina defeating Duke, 11-5.
The Heels' game with the Blue Devils will air on ACC Network. Jay Alter, Sheehan Stanwick Burch and Charlotte North will have the call.

- UNC is seeking its ninth ACC Championship having won the title in 2002, '16, '17, '18, '19, '21, '22 and '25. It's already secured its 12th ACC regular season championship with the others coming in 1998, 2012, '15, '16, '17, '21, '22, '25.
- This will be the 47th match-up between UNC and Duke with Carolina holding the edge, 32-14.
- Carolina is currently outscoring its opponents 264-100 (+164), which leads the nation. Last season, the Tar Heels led the nation in scoring margin at +233 (384-151).
- Carolina's defense held opponents to 6.9 goals per game in 2025, which ranked first in both the ACC and NCAA. This year, the Heels are holding opponents to 7.1 goals per game, which ranks third nationally and first in the ACC.
- The nation's best player, Chloe Humphrey, has followed up her record-breaking freshman season with another outrageous year. Her 79 goals and 112 points lead the nation and her 33 assists are tied for 21st. Humphrey's 79 goals are fourth on UNC's single-season list and her 112 points are tied for fourth. She also leads the team with 19 caused turnovers this season. For her career, Humphrey's 169 goals are sixth all-time at UNC and her 230 points are seventh. Her 61 assists are 13th all-time in school history.
- Eliza Osburn has been stuffing the stat sheet in '26. After 14 games, Osburn has 25 goals (t-third on the team), 16 assists (third on the team), 19 groundballs, 12 caused turnovers and 27 draw controls (third on the team).
- Addison Pattillo has come into her own during her sophomore campaign. She's second on the team in goals with 41 and her 2.9 goals per game rank 37th nationally. She's also added eight assists, 15 groundballs and 14 caused turnovers.
- Kate Levy has been a stable presence for the Heels as a sophomore. She's tallied 19 goals and eight assists, while adding 23 groundballs (leads team), 18 caused turnovers (second on the team) and nine draw controls.
- Sarah Gresham and Kaleigh Harden have taken over the draw for Carolina. The pair are tied with 64 draw controls apiece. Thanks to this duo, the Heels rank first in the league and sixth nationally with 16 draw controls per game.
- Sam Forrest and Brooklyn Walker-Welch make up the most formidable defensive duo in the country. They lead a unit that is allowing just 7.1 goals per game, while causing 10.6 turnovers per game. GraceAnn Leonard has also been a force this season and is third on the team with 16 caused turnovers to go along with 22 groundballs and 20 draw controls.
