2019-20: Represents women’s cross country on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
2018-19: Competed in four meets during outdoor regular season • Clocked a collegiate-best time in the 800 meters (2:14.44) at the Virginia Challenge • Earned top-five finishes at the Battle of the Blues and the Raleigh Relays, placing fourth in the 800 (2:15.07) at Duke and fourth in the 4x800 (9:06.08) at NC State • Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll. • Represented the women’s cross country team on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
2018 XC: Competed in the Charlotte Opener.
2017-18: Set two personal records at the Bob Pollock Invitational • Ran the 800 in 2:15.62 for 11th and then finished the mile in 5:13.27 for 22nd-place honors • Did not compete during the outdoor season • Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Prep: Three-time VHSL 5A state champion in the 800 • VHSL 5A state champion in the 1,000 and the 4x800 in 2016 • Three-time New Balance Nationals qualifier • Placed 14th in the 800 at New Balance Nationals in 2016 • Set school records in the 800, 1,000, 500 and 4x800 • Named the Region 5A North Track Athlete of the Year in 2016 • Was the Charlottesville Newsplex Student Athlete of the Year for 2016-17 • Named the Overall Female MVP of Albemarle High School in 2017 • Named the MVP of the indoor and outdoor track teams following each of her four years • Captained the track and field and field hockey teams as a junior and a senior • Was second-team all-state in field hockey in 2016 • Played center midfield for the field hockey team • Was a National AP Scholar, president of the Spanish Honor Society and a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club and Patriot Athletic Leaders • Four-time all-A honor roll.
Personal: Kathryn Elizabeth Mayo is the daughter of Marty and Mary Anne Mayo • Born April 12 • Graduated high school with a 4.72 weighted GPA • Her father competed in long jump, high jump and triple jump at Clemson • She is a third-generation Tar Heel.
