CHAPEL HILL, N.C.--The University of North Carolina field hockey team has rescheduled two games postponed in September. The Tar Heels will host Old Dominion on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m. and Virginia on Thursday, Oct. 25, at 4 p.m. at Francis E. Henry Stadium.
The Old Dominion and Virginia games originally were scheduled for Sept. 15 and 16 and were postponed following the tragedies of Sept. 11.
The home game against Old Dominion, currently ranked No. 4, falls on the first day of UNC's Fall Break. Carolina and ODU also will meet on Oct. 27, when the Tar Heels travel to Norfolk, Va.
The rescheduled game against Virginia, currently ranked No. 8, is a non-conference matchup. Carolina will travel to Charlottesville to face the Cavaliers on Oct. 13 in the game that counts toward the Atlantic Coast Conference standings.
Carolina, now 8-2 (1-0 ACC) and ranked No. 2 in this week's national coaches' poll, travels to Wake Forest on Saturday for an ACC matchup. Game time in Winston-Salem, N.C., is 11 a.m. The Demon Deacons defeated UNC 2-0 in a non-conference game on Sept. 26 in Chapel Hill.
UNC's next home game is Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. against Radford.
