The North Carolina-Richmond series
UNC and Richmond have met twice, with the Tar Heels winning both games. The most recent matchup was two seasons ago, when the two met in the consolation game of Richmond's Wachovia Women's Invitational Tournament on Dec. 5, 1999. UNC won that game 106-80, setting a new scoring record for the event. Nikki Teasley led Carolina in scoring with 24 points, including five three-pointers in five attempts.
The teams' first meeting was also at Richmond. On Dec. 3, 1995, the Tar Heels won 77-72.

Three times in this season's first six games, the final box score showed six UNC players in double figures. In wins over Evansville, Western Carolina and Howard, nearly half of the 13-member team scored between 10 and 23 points.
Prior to this season, the Tar Heels had not seen six in double digits since the end of the 1999-2000 season, when four starters and two subs hit that mark in a 73-64 upset of No. 9 Duke on Feb. 27, 2000.
The season breakdown:
* Six in double figures: three times (Evansville, Western Carolina, Howard)
* Five in double figures: twice (Old Dominion, Wake Forest)
